Furlife Northwest: Furry Disc Golf at Juel Park

Let's meetup and play a fun, simple outdoor game, disc golf! Juel Park in Redmond is home a very flat and easy walking disc golf course in a large open field, perfect for beginners.

Fursuits are welcome (please note there is no changing space so you will have to change in the parking lot). If the weather is hot I encourage wearing a partial or just ears & tail, as there is not much shade on this course!

At noon we will meet by the practice basket which near the end of the parking lot, where we will take a group photo then divide into smaller groups of 3 or 4 so we don't clog up the course too much as we play. This is a good chance to practice your short tosses or "putts" before we begin!

If you've never played disc or frisbee golf before, it's similar to regular golf except played with hard plastic discs that you try to throw into a metal basket lined with chains. You are allowed to take a running start on all your throws, and most of the holes at Juel Park are[masked] feet in length.

Please note regular frisbees will not work for disc golf as they are too large, do not fly far enough and will bounce off the chains. Official disc golf discs can be purchased at most sporting goods stores (Big 5, Play it Again, Dick's), entry-level discs cost only $8-$10. I will have a LIMITED number of extra discs to loan out for this meet, if you want to borrow one of mine please comment below.

It is a 9-hole course, after going once around we'll go have lunch at the strip mall just down the road, there's a Subway and Teriyaki place to choose from. There is limited indoor seating so we may have to split up into two groups depending on how many want to attend the lunch portion.

Hope to see you there!
